I get this question from time to time. "What are your qualifications?" This is usually from the occasional new guy just starting his hair loss or hair transplant information search or from a new to the industry doctor feeling his way through the online hair world for the first time. Inevitably they'll find my name, this website, or they'll see me on Spencer Kobren's The Bald Truth every week. Somehow, they find me so it is a logical question to ask since I don't give the appearance of being tied to any clinic, which is what I want.
I've been tossing around the idea of producing a series of videos to address the more basic questions patients can have so I figured this was a good start as it answers the question about who I am and what my qualifications are for those that are looking for hair transplant information.
Reliable Hair Transplant Information
I think it is always important for me to give Dr. Wong his justifiable recognition. He is personally responsible for my hair transplant transformation and I don't know if anyone else would have done such a great job. But the video, and this post, aren't about Dr. Wong nor the results I have because of him. This video is about the journey I've been on as a patient and as a professional working in the hair transplant industry for over twelve years. It's also about the exposure I've had, and the lessons I've learned, from some of the best hair transplant surgeons in the world.
I know and understand the intricacies of the hair transplant information patients need to make a smart decision. Hair transplant information is too easy to come by but the question becomes one of validation. Is the information you're reading coming from an "expert" that went and had surgery somewhere and knows how to make a Youtube video? Is he simply an expert at looking at before and after photos and serves up hair transplant information based on his superior web surfing skills? You really do have to consider the source of the hair transplant information you're reading and ask yourself if it is worth making a surgical decision based on what some anonymous person says online.
And that's the difference with me. I've been in the trenches with multiple hair transplant clinics for years. I've watched and even assisted in hundreds of surgeries, personally conducted at least 30,000 online consultations and have conducted at least 10,000 face to face consultations all over North America and Europe. Combined with my own personal hair restoration experience it puts me into a unique position of authority with regards to reliable hair transplant information. I don't profess to know everything, as I don't think anyone does, but I've got a perspective on this industry that few, if any other, people have.
