As this website moves forward and matures I will be adding new sections and new tools. Before that happens however I felt it necessary to put together a page dedicated to my doctor, Dr. Jerry Wong. Dr. Wong deserves all the credit in the world for turning my life around. Without him, I would not be here. I would not be in Canada and I wouldn't even be married to the woman I'm married to. It all started with him so I wanted to make sure the received the recognition he deserves for helping me put together the life I have.
One of the things I keep hearing from patients from all over the world that have visited or had surgery with Dr. Wong have told me the same thing, over and over again. Dr. Wong is a quiet and humble man. This is very true. What many may not realize about Dr. Wong is that he is a man that likes to tinker and use his hands to make the tools he needs to do his job. He is the man that invented the lateral slit technique which is in use by many of the top clinics in the world today. I think this fact is far too often overlooked and he doesn't get the credit he deserves for this achievement. I remember other things he's built with his own two hands such as finger mounted graft holders that allow for reduced graft desiccation and more efficient graft placement. He made a ring that goes on the finger and it has a small reservoir that holds just enough storage solution for about twenty follicular units. It was designed to reduce the amount of movement the technicians go through to place grafts before they have to turn around to grab more grafts to continue placing into the scalp. Once he perfected the design he made a dozen or so in various colors for his technicians. I don't think you see many doctors doing things like this.
Aside from his time in surgery he has a rich hobby life that I think should be mentioned. He's a licensed aircraft pilot and in the summer months he likes to ride his road bike bicycle to work. He enjoys motorcycles, boats, fishing, taking his entire staff out to dinner just for the heck of it and occasionally he'll spring for a short weekend cruise if he thinks the staff will have a good time. When people mention that Dr. Wong is a quiet humble man, they usually don't realize that behind this humility is a man that has a rich love of life and all it has to offer. It is one of the things that I think makes Dr. Wong stand out and contributes to his very pleasant and happy demeanor. If you ever get the opportunity to meet the man you'll easily see how he lights up if you mention one of these hobbies he loves.
If you want to check out more about what Dr. Jerry Wong has to offer you can visit his profile page and even fill out the contact form if you'd like to get in contact with him.

I have to reply to this thread because the point is so important. The fact that Dr. Wong did not name the lateral slit technique after himself speaks volumes yet most young guys will fail to notice the importance. They simply get too caught up with looking at pictures and not the person behind it all.It is the person that matters the most at least this is what I have found over my own life experience. Who is the person? What are his life goals? What does he value in life?
The quiet humbleness of this man simply cannot go unnoticed and that matters. Would a man such associate himself with someone who would be dishonest or cause harm to others without any regard? The answer would simply be no it is absolutely inconceivable at least to me. People generally tend to associate themselves with people who are similar to themselves especially when developing working relationships for the long term in which they control.
Hair transplant patients need to look deeper when researching. They need to look past the marketing and decide is this person real. Is what I am seeing the real thing or all show?
What I see here is real and I have absolutely no problem with the truth.
What you said is very true and thank you for acknowledging this. Dr. Wong is an honorable man in that he has no ambitions for the limelight and he does not tolerate surgical shortcuts. He has always been happy just doing his work and trying to do the best work he can. He’s always looking into ways he can improve things and he never rests on his laurels. I learned a lot from him and it is refreshing to see you say that Dr. Wong can’t conceivably work with people he feels would be harmful to others. I worked with him for eleven great years and we are still friends today. I’ve already turned down the opportunity to work with several doctors because of what Dr. Wong taught me about how an OR should be run. Cleanliness is not something every clinic takes seriously and that is but one of the issues I look for in new clinics that approach me.
This quiet and humble man saved my life 🙂
Without him I wouldn’t know my friend Joe
Kudos Dr.Wong !
