Hair Transplant Mentor

Dr. Jerry Cooley

North Carolina hair transplant candidates have a lot of options to consider. A simple search online will reveal many clinics in North Carolina and many more that are not even near North Carolina due to Google advertising. Fact is, there are very few options to take seriously for a North Carolina hair transplant.
I’ve known Dr. Jerry Cooley of Charlotte, North Carolina off and on for over ten years. It started with our online disucssions when I first started posting on hair transplant forums and we finally met in person at the 2004 ISHRS conference in Vancouver, BC. Ever since then I’ve had a deep respect for Dr. Cooley because he has always performed very high quality North Carolina hair transplant surgery and he’s one of those doctors that is very involved in several areas of his chosen field.
With regards to hair loss in general Dr. Cooley has always been at the cutting edge of hair loss treatment research including the use of ACELL, auto derived therapy as well as hair cloning. While I was the one of the first to really talk about Acell in particular (as a non-doctor) and it’s potential for hair transplant surgery I gave up on it’s potential long ago. However, after having conversations with Dr. Cooley about his use of Acell and auto derived therapy and having seen many of his results using these treatments I have decided that there is a lot of visual evidence to support the idea of their respective efficacies. When someone makes a believer out of me, especially after I’ve already lost faith, I get impressed and that is exactly what Dr. Cooley has done.
The second time I was fortunate to meet Dr. Cooley was in 2013 at the ISHRS meeting in San Francisco. I shared my impressions of the ISHRS Conference on my blog and I mentioned seeing Dr. Cooley again. When I was reviewing the hair transplant results shared by the other doctors during the live patient viewing it was Dr. Cooley’s excellent North Carolina hair transplant result that was the standout among all of the other results presented. He presented a North Carolina hair transplant that consisted of 3100 grafts placed in the crown with an extremely natural looking whorl pattern recreated perfectly. While this is not supposed to be a competition and is only meant to highlight the different techniques by the various respective doctors it is still a place where hair transplant results are silently judged. I never forgot that result or the pleasant chat we had.

North Carolina Hair Transplant

Fast forward to 2015. I am no longer a hair transplant consultant in the traditional sense as I have been for the previous eleven years, but rather I am working to make changes in the industry as a whole. I’m out to find doctors that do more than the average doctor.

I want to work with hair transplant doctors that have a special attention to detail and patient care and a real ambition to do better than the next guy by doing better for their patients.

I want to get the word out about these doctors so they get the exposure that I believe they deserve and Dr. Jerry Cooley is one such doctor. It is no secret that I have high standards for hair transplant surgery. In fact, my hair transplant standards are higher than most. I’m not talking just about results but the surgery itself. Regarding Dr. Cooley, the North Carolina hair transplant needs to be carried out in a clean environment with proper precautions against infection and threats to patient health. You’d be surprised how bad it can be in some clinics that I’ve seen but I’m happy to say that Dr. Jerry Cooley excels in performing surgery in a safe environment with proper surgical protocols solidly in place. I was in Charlotte, North Carolina for a trip but my schedule was changed at the last minute. Dr. Cooley had always suggested I come to his clinic if I’m were ever in the area so I took him up on his offer and wound up spending an entire day observing a meticulous surgical performance. I did not document on video any of my visit simply because we were not set up to do so and this was a friendly last minute visit and not an actual review. However, I have to say that I came away from the experience highly impressed. I watched Dr. Cooley and his assistant Brandi perform a FUSS procedure that was resembled a staged choreographed event. Dr. Cooley and Brandi work so well together, and have for many years of experience, that there is a distinct impression of mind reading occuring. There was very little discussion but volumes of information were being shared back and forth. Brandi was multitasking in such a manner I have never seen before during the procedure while assiting Dr. Cooley with the donor closure. It was an impressive display of talent, ability and surgical cohesion. I’ll be returning to Dr. Cooley’s office in the near future with my camera gear in tow and we’ll have enough time to plan for multiple North Carolina hair transplant patients to be present so I can document in true HD the results that Dr. Cooley is getting and to show you how he performs his meticulous FUSS and FUE procedures.
Dr. Cooley has impressive credentials.
