The tides of change are rolling in. What was once the powerhouse destination in the hair transplant world is beginning to crumble for a number of reasons. I'm talking about the country of Turkey which has been growing as the #1 destination for the explosive industry known as "medical tourism". For the past several years I've been reading about patients wishing to have an FUE hair transplant in Turkey due to the extremely low price and the supposed high quality of work that could be had. At the peak of … read more
I've had a mixed feeling about Turkey since I first went to visit Istanbul in May of 2015. Before I went to Istanbul I knew absolutely nothing about the hair transplant industry in Turkey or about technician hair transplant clinics. I admit, I was very naive with how things work in Turkey but the past year has been an incredible learning period. In general the hair transplant industry is already dirty, regardless of country. There is so much BS with marketing and all the clinics are scared to death of … read more
I've written extensively about hair transplant clinics in Turkey since my initial visit to see Dr. Emre Karadeniz back in May, 2015 and again in June, 2015 when I returned to Istanbul for the 3rd Annual Mediterranean FUE Workshop. I still have a lot to write and a lot of video footage to edit but I wanted to share this latest video by Hair Transplant Mentor™ partner doctor, Dr. Emre Karadeniz of AEK Hair Institute.

February was a great month for project repair as our first patient finally received his treatment. I first announced Project Repair back in October, 2015 and it was immediately received with accolades and praise, mainly because of the doctors that are participating are such high caliber and have selflessly taken this project seriously. Hair transplant repair patients now have a option if they cannot afford proper hair transplant repair work on their own.
You know the saying; "just when you think you've seen it all...". This is one of those moments. I often get questions from prospective hair transplant patients about the safety of traveling to Turkey with the current crisis going on in neighboring Syria and the potential for terror attacks. I understand the concern, I really do, which is one of the reasons why I made the hair transplant documentary to show people what it is like to travel to Turkey to get a hair transplant. In my opinion it is … read more
This is not part of my hair transplant documentary series but when I was in Istanbul for the 2015 3rd Annual Mediterranean FUE Workshop I tried to take advantage of the opportunity and interview some doctors that I know. It was really busy and while I got some verbal commitments from Dr. Cole, Dr. Lorenzo, Dr. Rahal and others it just didn't work out that way. I blame the excellent organizational skills of Asmed Surgical Centre and Dr. Koray Erdogan for keeping us all so busy with activities:) I'm not … read more
Oh boy! It's time to hit the road again. I'm heading back to Europe and this time I'm doing things different than before. I will be conducting clinic reviews, interviews and conducting Hair Transplant Mentor™ Second Opinion Service meetings with men and women that want a second opinion about their consultations or to talk about their surgery if they already had one. I know it is farily last minute, but sometimes that is how things happen. Sorry for the late notice but I hope you can make it out!
So I was reading a review by a patient about his experience in Istanbul Turkey and I was more interested in the overall situation OF his experience and not so much of the details about his experience. What I mean is, it all seemed just so, I don't know, convenient. The guy started posting his questions about this clinic on March 31st of 2015. By April 9th of 2015 he was saying that he found a negative review of the doctor but that it seemed suspicious and he was booking … read more
