It's available to buy from mostly all pharmacies,around £7.00 a 500ml bottle though. Also available by prescripton from your doctor, but yep you're spot on about it taking out dandruff, probably in one wash as I find, It is a God send, used it for years for moderate to severe dandruff and I'd recommend it, though if you are allergic to peanuts or it's says please don't use, only downsides are the peanut allergy part, and the smell aint great, though if you like the smell of tar, that's what it's like.
