Hair Transplant Repair 1
Here are the hair transplant surgery pictures that started it all. My FIRST repair procedure with Dr. Wong. When I look at these photos they bring back a rush of memories for me. This was a very exciting time in my life that saw massive changes for me, some were not so great, others were fantastic (such as getting more hair). I remember the exhilaration I felt when I was going through surgery because I knew in my gut I had a wild ride in front of me. Little did I know my life would be completely different just a few short months in the future.
I remember having this photo taken. I had gotten to the clinic at 6:15 a.m. sharp, just as I was told, and when I got to the elevator, I was standing next to this older Chinese gentleman. He was very quiet and unassuming and when we both got on the elevator he hit the sixth floor button. "Hey, that's where I'm going", I remember thinking to myself. Sure enough, we both got off the elevator and walked into the same office. It was Dr. Wong and I didn't even realize it.
So I was greeted by Sylvia and she told me to fill out some forms and when I was done I had to change my shirt and my shoes. She gave me some terry cloth booties to keep my feet warm as I wasn't allowed to wear my shoes in the OR. This is where Dr. Wong came in and we started chatting. He is very quiet, almost mumbles, but he has this very calming demeanor about him. He then said, "Ok, let's go shave your head". I was like, WHAT???? Mike Ferko never told me about this, but as many of you now know, this is to be expected as it helps Dr. Wong to see in between the existing hairs much better. I'm sure if I pushed him he would relent and not shave my head because the spaces between my old hair transplant grafts were huge so I'm sure he could have seen between them. I gave in however and I never regretted it for one second.
