Hair Transplant Mentor V.4.0

Welcome to the new and improved HairTransplantMentor.com. I originally created this site to document my hair transplant journey in real time. I was the first hair transplant patient to photo blog hair transplant results in real time in such detail. Many years ago, I had unsuccessful mini-micro graft surgery. The results were discouraging and depressing. I wanted the mess fixed and after much research, I chose Doctor Wong of Hasson & Wong Hair Transplant Clinic, to repair that work and provide more coverage with subsequent hair transplants. This blog is about that journey.

For proper disclosure you should know that while I currently work for Hasson & Wong Clinic, I did not work for them when I had my first two procedures with Dr. Wong. The documentation was unbiased and in real time.

If you are a would-be hair transplant patient, I hope you can learn something from my experience. Take a look at my hair transplant photos, and read my story. If you have any questions, contact me. I’ll try to answer and may even post that answer on the blog to help other hair loss sufferers.

Here is one of the videos showing  my hair restoration results after my third hair transplant with Dr. Wong.

I don’t think your hair transplant came out that good, it’s okay.

  • lewis

jotronic you look good my question for you is after all the hair transplants you got, if you wanted more could you get more?

  • jotronic

    Hi Lewis,

Thanks for writing in. After all I’ve been through Dr. Wong thinks I still have more hair to transplant safely if I decide to go for #4. Right now I’m pretty happy but if I do decide to max things out you can be sure that I’ll document online as I always have.

  • jotronic

    Hi Mac,

You know, you thinking that my result is only “ok” is perfectly fine by me. I’m happy and that is all that counts. The biggest success for me is that I look “normal” in that I don’t have a pluggy appearance anymore and I have good coverage that looks natural. Your definition of excellence may be different than mine and the hundreds of others that have told me they like my result but that is cool. If you are looking for an improvement for your own hair I hope you find it.

    That is really nice work.

I’ve had a HT myself and I’ve always thought the hairline looked more pluggy at the right. Luckily, my hair falls over it so it’s pretty much always camouflaged.

I can imagine that it feels awful to receive a HT that gives you sub par results. You must feel relieved to finally have this work done on you. Those results are excellent!

    Hi Jay,

I unfortunately did not have enough hair over the last few years before I went to Dr. Wong to camouflage the bad work but BOY is it a different world for me. Almost 8 years after my first repair session and I’m still overjoyed!

Thanks, Sac. HD video is by far and above much better than non-HD video not to mention photos as well. Glad you like:)

  • Duke

Nice results. Do they have to shave your head to perform the procedure. This would not work well for me because I”d look like bozo for a few months.

  • jotronic

Thanks writing. If you have any hair in the recipient area then then yes it should be shaved. You may think you’ll look like bozo for a few months but you’ll look even worse when the native hair you have falls out for good because of transection. This causes permanent shock loss and will leave you with a net loss from the procedure. The whole point of this is a net gain. In addition, you don’t have to look like bozo. You can trim the rest of your hair to blend in the areas that have been shaven not to mention that the hair that is shaved will start to grow back immediately.

Wow, I really am impressed. I had a procedure done about 9 years ago with a company I won’t mention. I did some some results, but nothing as amazing as yours. Please keep writing about this because it helps a lot of guys who don’t really want to talk with others about hair loss.

Hello Jotronic, Very impressive work. Could you please tell if you are on any medicines (like propecia) after the transplants?

  • jotronic

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I have been onfinasteride (1/4 tablet of Proscar) since the day after my first surgery, almost ten years ago.
