Hey Fred,

While medication is not necessary it will influence the direction that a good doctor will take with your case. Your doctor might not be quite as aggressive if he knows you are not taking preventative meds but you can still get a quality result. Just understand that you are setting yourself up for multiple surgeries, or at least the potential for such, as you continue to lose more hair.

I personally am on Proscar currently and have been on meds for 8 years now. I had a three year stint on Avodart but it did not seem to do anything for me above and beyond what Proscar had been doing.

Hey Jotronic, I ve been looking at some of your pics and if those are for real I have to say congratulations. It seems that Dr Wong might be the best there is out there.
I wanted to know if you ever taken any drugs (propecia, minoxidil) before or right now. Is it necessary to take propecia after a hair transplant? I read somewhere that transplanted hairs are DHT resistant so they won’t fall down right?
I have never taken any drugs before and honestly I would like to avoid them as much as possible

This is really interesting to read. I’ve never ordered medication online but I’ve always thought about it. After reading this, I’ll do more research before I even consider it.

On a separate note, I’m curious what you recommend for shampoos. I would guess that there are not any that really grow hair but what do you recommend for good overall hair health?
